Rob Roy House, Austin Texas

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautifully designed home here in Austin Texas, no detail was spared in the design and build of this home.  The home is elegant yet organic and feels like a private spa. This private residence is located in the Rob Roy neighborhood in Westlake

Austin City Skyline

Taken from the walkway of the First Street Bridge looking across the waters Ladybird Lake towards the Congress Avenue Bridge the Austin City Skyline rises above at Twilight on the evening of April 22nd 2016.  Barely noticeable is the packed crowd of bat watchers on the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge where up to 1.5 million bats emerge each evening from March to November.   The tallest building in Austin, The Austonian, rises left of center of the picture and on the far right is the Hotel Van Zandt one of Austin’s newest Hotels located on Rainey Street.  For image and print inquiries please contact me at 512-701-0985 or by email at ethantweedie@gmail.com

The Pennybacker Bridge or 360 Bridge Architecture

One of the finest examples of bridge architecture located right here in Austin Texas is the Pennybacker Bridge or 360 Bridge.  It was opened in 1982  and in 1984 the bridge won 1st place in the Federal Administration’s Excellence in Highway Design competition. In 1992 the bridge was selected by the Austin chapter of the Consulting Engineers Council of Texas. The bridge was picked as the most innovative example of Austin architecture and to this day is a icon of of the city.

On both sides of the 360 Highway there are hiking trails to the bluffs overlooking the bridge, its a great place to enjoy the outdoors and take in the beautiful view of Lake Austin and the surrounding Hill Country of Texas.
